History - Live at the Library & Whitecappers
History will come to life on April 7th and April 14th right here in Chestermere. If you find reading ‘Chestermere a Home for all Seasons' is a bit time consuming, then you can hear it on these dates right from the Chestermere Historical Foundation experts in costume. Stories are even better when told. This is your chance to hear what has made Chestermere the community it is, live! Three members of the Historical Foundation will present the social, economic, and political events and the changes in demographics which that have resulted in this unique lakeside community. Though Chestermere does not have the typical ‘old' buildings and features of many of Alberta's early settlements its history is interesting and very unique. The multi-media presentation is co-sponsored by Chestermere Community Services and will be presented on Thursday April 7th at the Whitecappers lounge, 201 West Chestermere Drive 12:00 to 1pm or bring your lunch at 11:30am to enjoy beforehand, and again on Thursday April 14th 12 noon to 1pm at the Chestermere Library. For more information you can contact the Historical Foundation through the webpage www.chestermerehistory.org or Community Services (Beth-Anna) at 403 201 7047 www.chestermere.ca/communityservices
