SMAILES, Carol Eunice

July 11, 1953 – July 27, 2024

Carol Eunice Smailes, a beacon of love and adventure, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the age of 71, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on July 11, 1953, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Carol's life was a tapestry of vibrant experiences and enduring relationships. Her final days were spent in Calgary, Alberta, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Carol's legacy is carried on by her adoring siblings Laurie Palosaari (Eero), Gail Bland (Butch), Graham Smailes (Lynda), Brent Smailes (Ivy), Jacqueline Smailes(Carol), Tim Smailes (MaryLou), Mark Smailes (Michelle), and Don Smailes (Gerry), Pat (Don) Macmillan, Lynn (Warren) as well as her sisters-in-law Caroline and Linda (Ross). She also leaves behind a constellation of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and wit.

Predeceased by her loving husband Harold; her parents Lorna and Jack Smailes;brother Gerald, Sister Phyllis; lifelong friend Bertha Paul; and her 2 cats Snooker and Merc.

Celebration of life will be held at Chestermere Whitecappers Association (201 W Chestermere Dr. Chestermere, AB T1X 1A2) on Sunday Sept 22, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
