Teenager involved in Hit and Run Has Returned to School

The Langdon teenager injured in a hit-and-run on Henderson Road and 4 Street Northeast last month has returned to school part-time and will be OK despite numerous injuries.
That's the good news.
The bad news is the driver of the truck that hit the 13-year-old girl hasn't been found and no one has come forward to claim responsibility for the incident.
The teenager was airlifted to the Alberta Children's Hospital with a serious concussion, along with a fractured elbow and fractures to both feet after getting hit by what witnesses describe as a black pickup truck on Feb. 17.
The truck fled the scene heading east on Glenmore Trail, but the make and model of the vehicle are not known.
According to the teen's stepmother, the girl and a friend were headed to the Subway when she was hit. She spent a week in hospital and has been quickly recovering considering the seriousness of the injuries.
"She doesn't remember anything," said the stepmother, who would like the identity of her family to be remain anonymous. "The only thing she remembers is walking down the street. 
"I got her Subway late last week and she was really happy about that. All she wanted this whole time was Subway.
"We are really lucky. She's going to be OK. She has a minor brain injury. We're going into the children's hospital for the brain injury. Other than the typical concussion stuff, the first week was really bad. She seems to be getting better. She's pretty resilient."
The incident happened around 6 p.m. and it was said to be light out at the time.
